The wife and I are looking to make a trip to myrtle beach with another couple. I have never been there to metal detect. I could use some advice here as to where we could consider looking and also I want to know if much is found down that way.
Thanks in advance. |

Beaches, picnic areas, parks...anywhere lots of people gather should produce some pretty good finds. I've not been to Myrtle Beach - but would like to go someday. Good luck and Happy Hunting!

Humm Google the outer banks and see what pops up, Its a shipwreck grave yard..I'm not sure about myrtle beach it will be cool to see what you find out..The whole Nc/sc coast is said to have been Black Beards paradise..A well known pirate..He had a home near Nags Head..thats where I am headed this week..I am sure the Nc/Sc shores have been search hard Due to the history..Like bbq stated check out the seafood places, this time of year theres not much open..I think Dixielady just got back from a hunt in myrtle..happy hunting..You could hit the big one..

The basic guidelines for a successful hunt still apply though. Always hunt the prime target zones first, towel line, volleyball courts, concession stands, etc. for the drysand. (mine and lane for water)
I would think a very popular beach like that would be hit hard, so if you are not having any luck in the prime zones you might want to try your luck in the more difficult areas that most detectorists avoid, rocky areas, trashy areas, grass line, etc. I'm sure you already know this stuff but it's always nice to have a reminder to keep us falling into a rut. Good Hunting to you, BDA |
