I live on the West Coast, but haven't taken my machine up to OR. I did hear something about some pretty strict codes about not being able to detect even your back yard without an archeologist present or something totally stupid like that. Not sure if that is the case on the beaches, though.

I have been to the coast line in Or. and found a sign on the beach that said NO METAL DETECTING ALLOWED and I understant the state owns the shore in all of OR Good luck
