Default Part of Something is better than All of Nothing!

I spent Saturday teaching my apprentice pirate how to hunt the surf, I missed Surf Church waiting on a call to go find an old widow's ring but today I hunted. I headed back to Tobacco Bay this afternoon to see what I could find. I managed to pull $4.43 of clad, a silver ring and 2/3s of a gold signet ring out of the bay in the course of a 2 hour hunt. A good number of targets but not a lot of good stuff, the .925 is OK and even part of a gold ring is still gold for the smelter, so it's all good.

Cheers All,

BDA

Chick, the partial gold ring was heavily corroded, including on the breakpoint. When a low karat ring loses most of it's copper and silver content due to corrosion it seems to get more brittle and if can snap like this if it gets crushed in or under the rocks(found this beside the rocks on the far left of the first pic) Because the break point was corroded I knew I wouldn't be finding the balance of the ring near by, it was a tough target with a faint and broken signal, 4 scoopfuls down.(around 18" deep)
Alan: Middle left is a 1961 British Large Penny, QE2 and the middle right is a 194? British Half Penny. George VI (same as the one Chris found on Saturday but in far worse condition)

Cheers,

BDA

Hey BDA good hunt! I like the silver ring, it looks heavy.

I am also curious as to the middle 2 items, Beale.
