I went to my fav beach today to get in a little hunting time. There had been some surf pounding the island the past few days and this always stirs the sand up. It was low tide so I figured it would be a good time to try.
The hunt went slow. A couple quarters and a silver ring were the main finds. It was not looking to be anything spectacular. I decided to pack it in and was slowly walking to my Jeep. I was just skimming the detector along the bank between the dry and packed sand figuring maybe I'd pick up a couple coins. I found a Spiderman dog tag on a chain. I was walking behind a couple sitting in the surf area (she was in a bikini) when I got a strange signal. I scooped the area and walked to the water and out pops an 18 karat ring weighing 10.8 grams!
