Default Unlucky in the Hunt - Lucky with the Cards!

I got out for a poor Surf Church yesterday. No Gold and No Silver. The best find was a British Pound coin with a palm sprouting out of a crown on the obverse.

Fortunately, I went to a Mate's BBQ in the afternoon and as the sun was setting he pulled out his poker chips for a friendly little game.

Winner took 75% of the buy ins and 2nd place got 25%, at $50 a head for a buy in and 8 players that put the total pot at $400. The host took 2nd place and I took the big prize - $300.00 The day wasn't a total loss afterall.

Cheers,

BDA

You're So Right, Dugday! It used to take a high stakes game to get my adrenalin pumping but a nice safe tourney with a little cash at the end was just as satisfying last night. Everyone had fun and Nobody got hurt in the wallet.

Cheers,

BDA

Congrats on the card game!! What kind of money is that?

To me that would be a high stakes game, Beale.

That's 6 x $50 Bermudian Dollars, it trades at par with the American dollar and is pegged to it. The Bermudian Dollar is legal tender only in Bermuda and it is an offence to remove it from the island. You cannot exchange it for other currency anywhere but Bermuda, needless to say we keep a stash of U.S. and Canadian funds at all times.(in addition to my gold stashes)
Usually when we play poker at a Boys Poker Night the stakes are $100 buy-in and $50 rebuy in the first half hour of each tournament; we usually play 3 tournaments a night.
This is still low stakes poker compared to the games a few years ago, cash games, no credit, no limit - the pots would often get over $1,000 on a single hand. People got hurt sometimes and it is a lot grittier game, never play with more than you can afford to lose.
Know when to hold'em and Know when to fold'em!
