Default Bluenoser's log...Kamikazee shot down

From the land of the Bluenose....after consuming a most palatable breakfast of maple/pork sausages with a Spanish Omelette and coffee a la Robins it was time to hit the road and trek to one of my "once a year" swishing spots that is only a 40 minute drive on a most scenic and winding road. Marie was silent on the short journey which appleased this bouy to no end.

Arriving at the designed location she quickly assumed the position at a picnic table with book, walkman and scratch tickets in hand.

As I walked down to the beach area I turned on the Seahunter and was listening to my kind of music that has been number #1 on the hit parade for darn near 30 years. A super loud crackle told me a target was buried in the sand........big one to boot. So I plunged my sieve into the sand and out popped 3 dinkies. Going over the same hole another signal came through the new headphones and out popped 2 more dinkies. Three of the five were police cars. Kid who buried them I would think has his career path chosen at a very young age. I was in heaven becoming a "Dinkie Ace" without even hitting the water.

After wading waist high in the pristine water the signals began. Having forgotten my "loot bag" (small mesh bag on a string) I had to hold the recoveries in hand and had to make several trips a shore to make a deposit with my banker..who paid me little attention as she was totally absorbed in the last few chapters of Whacky Macky and the rest of the Ray Krock crew.

It was upon entering the swish zone on the third such trip that the enemy attacked in full force wounding me three times in areas not covered by my flack jacket (3/4 wet suit) as was evident by the ruby red welts on my swinging arm and the side of my neck. Flailing and thrashing I threw everything I could muster at the insistant dive bomber and finally caught him in a crossfire that knocked him out of the air. No Geneva Convention for this Kamikaze Horsefly as I picked him out of the drink and slowly...enjoying every moment of it, detached it's wings and set it back in the water. After the meal it had on me I was going to repay it likewise in full. Hopefully some aquatic being is swimming around with a full belly and a smile on it's face.

Time was running out as I had a 1800 hrs appointment on Acadia Field to umpire a double hitter. Heading down the 103 we took the Enfield turnoff and stopped at the Irving Big Stop (a.k.a. The Pig Stop) and had a real feast ...great food at a reasonable price. Waddling to the car we continued to traverse to our abode. Of course Marie had to turn the music on and I recall the last three songs......"Baby I Love Your Way" (Frampton), "Behind Closed Doors" (Charlie Rich) and "Thriller (Michael Jackson). UMMMMMM! Nah! Only a coincidence. My luck isn't that good..or is it?

Once home I tallied up the days finds; 5 dinkies, bridge token, arcade token, "Cutie 12" pendant, Pittsburg Penguins tie pin (son of a seahorse... one would at least expect a Montreal Canadian pin on the lakes bottom...oh wouldn't that be fitting and tick Marie who is a die hard Canadian fan..even brought me their sweater last Xmas),and 70 coins @ $8.70.

Time to go have some fun..." Strikkkkke three...your outta there!
