Default I thought I'd Found a Deadeye but instead

It turned out to be a block and tackle. Pulled it out of the briny deep last weekend on a short hunt just to stretch my legs. She was down more than 2 feet and the hole I had to punch in the sand was a monster.
A deadeye is part of the rigging of an old sailing ship and highly prized by surf pirates but this looks to be no more than 50 years old. The shells are full concreted into the encrustation built up over the years and it will make a nice piece for my garden.
Hoping to get out for a hunt today as I fly back to Montreal tomorrow to bury my Princess's father who passed away after a long illness. Work and family matters have conspired to keep me out of the water but conditions are becoming prime and I'll be hunting when I get back next week.

Cheers,

BDA
