Default Found a Whole Bunch of Not Very Much Today

I headed down to Horseshoe Bay for Surf Church today. I knew I was in trouble from the get go, sand was soft, a 2 foot chop was breaking in the lane and the wind was kicking up to small craft warning levels. No Bikinis to brighten the day, even. I hit the lane and the mine with little success and pulled back to the shelter of the swimming hole. There was a little loot there but not much. I haven't been able to hunt for the last 2 weeks due to work and a trip back to Canada for a funeral so I was determined in spite of the conditions.
Total take for 2 hours was $1.00 in clad, a bright sparkling .925 earing (I could buy Manhattan Island with the pile of these baubles I've collected), a gold plated toe ring (YUCK!), an old British Large Penny (WWII era), a fishing lure (nice but I don't fish for anything but gold fish) and a 1961 Canadian Penny (same age as me and in about the same condition). No gold in the scoop today but I had fun just the same.
What else can a Pirate ask for? (well, Gold of course but like I said none of that today)

Cheers All,

BDA

PS: I forgot to mention the trash pouch full of can slaw but at least there's less of that for me to find next time.

I feel for ya, BDA. Bad enough you have a so-so day but a day without bikinis is the pits!

You did better than me, but at least we got out in the sun! Of course, there's bound to be lots more gold for a pirate like yourself even if today wasn't a gold day. Yo-ho-ho!

Not bad for a 2 hour hunt. Hope you find the gold on your next hunt.

I didn't mean to sound like a whiner, perhaps it's just the gold fever creeping up on me. The water is approaching 70 F so it will be full on with the hunting soon.
Having Fun is the Most Important Part of a Hunt,
