Default I had a little trouble with the change machine at the bank yesterday.

I took my clad that I'd accumulated down to the bank change machine and dumped it in yesterday. A lot of the coins were rejected even though I'd tumbled them clean. I also noticed that the tally came out to $232.32 even though I only put nickels, dimes and quarters into the machine. Unless they were deducting a percentage for processing my clad I can't understand this one. I took the clad from the reject bin and dumped it back in which resulted in more clad being processed but then the machine jammed and the red light on it started flashing, not a red button mind you but one of those red strobe lights like on a police car. Thank goodness there were no sirens to go off. A reciept was then ejected from the machine and I took it over to the ATM for deposit while my Princess checked out the pile of change still trapped in the hopper, I figured I'd deal with once I'd made the deposit.(this was on the Saturday and the bank was closed with nobody around) By the time I got back to the change machine, my Princess had disassembled the feeder trough which keeps you from putting your hand into the hopper and was scooping out the clad that was trapped. (she's learned a few things from 11 years of marriage to a builder) She had matters well in hand when by chance a bank employee showed up to withdraw some money from the ATM and stopped us. The bank employee took down my name so that I could be credited the balance of the clad still in the bottom of the hopper. I reassembled the feeder trougher and we left. Now I'm wondering if I'm going to get a bill for shutting down the machine. We'll see if I get a call from the bank on Monday. I did manage to get rid of 3/4 of my clad, just the same.
Anybody else ever have this problem with the change machine??

Cheers,

BDA

We cashed in some loot and had fun doing it. What could be better?? If the machine can't handle the change it's no concern of mine.
A little extra loot for the next detector.

Cheers,

BDA
I did notice the machine was very particular about spitting back Canadian Clad.

Yes we have one a a local grocery store. I had to keep putting the money in that it rejected until it took it all. About 10 times and the charge was 8 or 9%. I roll mine now.

Mate, I just fed the change into it, by coincidence it decided to break down at that moment. Admittedly, we took the machine apart in order to get our change back but we put it back together.
Makes you wonder if these change machines are manufactured in China.

Cheers,

BDA

Hey BDA that is a funny story! Really makes you wonder where those machines come from.

Glad you got rid of some of the clad. I did mine not to long ago, Beale.
