Default My straight shaft came in !

Well my Anderson straight shaft came today for my Excalibur ll. Can't wait to try it out, if the wind ever stops blowing. I think it is going to make a huge difference from the feel of it.....

You're going to love having a balance straight shaft, Bill. Even with the lighter Excal2 coil that machine can still be a beast to handle in the water. For some reason Minelab seems generally unconcerned with ergodynamics for their machines. Balance is so important to avoiding fatigue on a hunt especially when the coil is heavy. I've tried to address this with them prior to the new Excal coming out but my pleas fell on deaf ears as they still ship the same goofy shaft. For that much cash you would think they would ship new with a proper shaft. (it'd be cheaper too)
Let us know how you feel about the upgrade to a proper shaft.

Cheers,

BDA

I'm sure you'll be very pleased with your purchase... They should come standard.

Congratulations on the Excal and the new straight shaft, makes a world of difference.

One thing that you may want to check before using, is the end that you'll be sliding the lower shaft into for burrs. I noticed that mine seemed tight when I first started assembling it and found them. A small piece of sandpaper on a dowel took care of them.
