Default Has any one ever deteced Lake Superior shore lines?

I live in upper Michigan and was wondering if any one has detected lake superior beaches and if so how did you do?
I live close (with in walking distance) but the only major swim area is aways down the beach.I have only found a couple pennys and a 32 cal shell caseing.

I've detected in Lake Michigan but the idea of getting into the waters of Lake Superior gives me chill blanes just at the thought. Does that water ever get above 50 degrees F? Just hunt it with the idea that it's a freshwater sea, which is really what it is. All of the rules of surf pirating apply the same so make sure you make the trip to where the folks go swimming if you want to find loot. You can't make withdrawls if you don't hunt where folks make deposits. Get a decent wetsuit if you're going into the water and watch out for rip currents as the Great Lakes do get them and they will drown you if you're not careful.(remember that survival time in those temps is a lot shorter than it is in Bermuda)

Cheers,

BDA

Ive been to superior a bunch of times and even in summer that lake is freezing unless your very young... I havent heard anyone hunting it but hey , give it a shot.. The least you could find is garbage and cleaning up the beach is very honorable.. good luck!

HA.HA around August the water is like bath water in the lake here you can actually dive and go I wish it was a little cooler other wise you look like this I do know that in the 1800's to the 1900's there have been ship wrecks by me some where close to shore other's where deeper I woul like to find something from them but I don't see that happening.
When it warms up a little again and the fly's die down I will it the beach.
