Seagrams Medallion - from the people who brought us Captain Morgan Rum

I found a brass medallion today and it took a while to clean up but here it is.
It reads "SEAGRAMS - 80 Years of Leadership - Fine Whiskies Since 1857"
The back shows an open book but I can't make out the writing.
The material is brass and it is the size of a silver dollar.

Since this appears to be an 80 year commemorative medallion and Seagrams was founded in 1857 that would mean the medallion was made in 1937. Captain Morgan Rum didn't enter the scene until 1945, eight years later when Seagrams branched into other spirits besides whiskey.

BTW - I thought it was a token at first, but it looks like to be a key chain, hence the hole. It is listed as both a token and a key chain, depending on the eBayer
