I Tried my Krocks in the water but they don't seem the best for pushin on the scoop. I have a Pair of Beach Sandals with Neoprene bottoms and velco straps. They are Lightweight, Have a sort of Fishnet cover over the front half of your foot and they work very well for me .

Amen on the dive boots. I bought a used pair for 5.00 at a yard sale, and got 6 years out of 'em. They kept the sand out and were comfortable.
