Default Bermudaful Surf Church at Horseshoe Bay

I was up before 6 am to catch surf church at Horseshoe Bay this morning. The flame trees were in full blossom and the fresh morning air was heavy with the scent of oleanders. Kissed my Princess good morning before I headed out but she was feeling cranky at that hour so I let the dog out and then gave Bree a Treat.(at least one of my gals was happy)
I made it to Horseshoe Bay an hour after sunrise and gave a wave to the west for Buster who would just be experiencing sunrise in Florida. (I didn't see you wave back Mate but I felt it, Kewl)
It was approaching mid tide by this point and there was a bunch of soft sand out to shoulders deep and then a drop off to the hard pack. Porteguese Man of War signs were up as were Rip Tide signs and I could see the rips pulling sand out to the reef. Discretion being the better part of valour I decided to avoid the hardpack as the 2 foot swell made it over my head every 15 seconds and that's just nuts to hunt during rip tides.
The main beach delivered nothing but pull tabs and a bottle top from a Stella Artois (my favorite) so I retreated to the swimming hole . There was a rainbow pointing to the swimming hole so I thought my luck might change and I did manage a quarter and 3 dimes but that was all. A local woman asked me to keep an eye out for her car keys but I had no luck with that either. I did manage to scoop up a PMOW fromthe swimming hole and deposited it on the rocks to bake harmlessly in the sun, nasty buggers.
I have a feeling that the gold is sitting in the hard pack which was just beyond my reach. I may be able to tickle some out tomorrow when the low tide will be after the lifeguards leave for the day and I can hunt the deep stuff. I'm trying to get out for the low tide this evening at Bo the Pirate's beach but we'll see how it goes.
Now I have to try and find the Princess' contact lens which popped out by the fish pond this morning on her walk with the Bree dog.

Good Hunting to All,
(I took the Olympus 770sw into the water with me and I can feel dampness all around the inner seal so it really is a hunk of junk)
