Hurricane Bertha Enroute to Bermuda?

I appreciate the concern but a nice tropical storm would be just perfect right now, even a CAT1 wouldn't be bad. Stir up all that old gold for this here pirate. More than a CAT1 starts to get dicey to say the least.
There's still lots of time for all sorts of things to happen with this hurricane so we'll have to wait and see what transpires.
I actually wouldn't mind a CAT1 as I missed most of the last one due to Hurricane Parties. Hurricanes give you a headache the next morning, in my experience.

BDA...Stay safe above all...I've been throgh too many hurricanes and even some super typhoons when I was in Okinawa. There are no two alike. Do what you must to prepare for yourself and the princess, we will all have you both and the rest of Bermuda in our prayers....

Hmmmm? The plot thickens! Hurricane Bertha the first true hurricane of the season which was only a Tropical Storm this morning has moved from CAT1 to CAT3 (115 mph winds) as of this moment. The forecasters have revised the storm track several times today but it's still enroute to Bermuda.
It's now anybody's guess where this is going to go, it'll be interesting for sure. Isn't Mother Nature cute when she's angry??
Bermuda is designed with hurricanes in mind so I'm not overly concerned. The walls of my cottage are 12" thick stone and the roof is made of stone with a cement wash over it. Bermuda can weather a CAT1 or 2 with no real ill effects, a day off and then everything back to normal; CAT3 and higher will make even the hardened Bermudians look up at the sky with trepidation.
We'll just have to see what comes.

Hang in there! Fortunately weather technology has gotten better over the years so we coastal dwelling folks can hunker or move with decent warning.

BDA Eric first up mate be safe to u and family. I had a Grandmother name Bertha she was a bit of a cyclone in her time, or a storm in a tea cup . We had one here about a year ago named Larry Cat 3 made land fall 60Km South East of here we got winds 260Km to 290Km. Up here on the Tablelands.
