Well I can now answer this question. I have, son and I went to sea island and then down to St. Simmons Island. January 80 deg. no rain ofcourse the place was packed . Found 2 pennies newer ones, one metal tent stake, a nail, and last but not least an S shaped piece of metal that looked like it went along with the tent that we found the stake to.
We will definatley go back. Will say we stopped at the marshes where a battle occured with a nice liitle metal sign that said "no metal detecting" . was funny though under those old old oak trees it was so quiet even though the road was no more than 50 feet or so from where we were.
