Smile Slingshot

I had a golf teacher with a revolutionary method of teaching who was years ahead of his time. It seemed I was always calling him for the "secret" even though he tried to assure me there was no such thing other than finding what's best for Y-O-U and the way you were built. Finally, out of desperation, thinking that I would never get the point, he told to imagine I was a slingshot with my arms as the bands and my hands as the pouch and mentally "sling" the ball to the target. My understanding was immediate and has also stopped me for looking for "secrets" in life and just using your God-given abilities and mentally adding IMAGINATION to accomplish whatever you want.

As a newbie here this was fun reading and a bit insightful.
I am known by a different name on each and every forum I am on. I never drive the same way to anywhere twice in a row and live much the same way. When I was in kindergarten I had to walk about 12 blocks to school (it used to be safe) and one day my Mom finally found me at 6:00 PM about a mile from the house headed across the river dividing two states.
This has nothing to do with my screen name.
When trying to come up with a name I just thought of living where I do and I "Dig the Northwest" and hope to dig in the Northwest with my new hobby, so DigsNW.
Tinman, great story again and now at this date we "know the rest of the story" and I, as long as all members here, are glad we still have Tinman with us. Belive me, you have a heart of gold, unbroken, unlike your buried coin.

as far as my name goes it was a name they called my grandfather when he was a police officer way back years ago and i just picked it up after he passed away back in the early 90's as a internet username on several sites that i go to

and yes i have been asked if i were a rodeo fan because of the bull that has a bad habit of hurting bull riders....lol and the answer is no and i had never heard of redrock the bull until i started using the name

interesting reading of the origins of ppl screen names

The Gunny gave me my name actually! lol As I was signing up and trying to think of a good name he used that "Gunny logic" and said well I am the Gunny and you are my wife. There you go, history was made!

Wonderful Stories behind all the screen names!!!

I was born in Charlottesville VA, on the Univ of VA campus. The school mascot is a Cavalier or some refer to them as the Wahoos. My wife and I have a 3 and a half year old dachshund named 'Hoos'.. My wife chose the pup and I got to name her. (She is the sweetest dog, thinks she's human) She is pictured at the top left. As for the 122, this was the day I was blessed with my wonderful son. My real name is Marco and I now live in Maryland.. Miss the ole VA. It has been so enjoyable reading everyones stories. Wish you all the Best!
