You are right Pappy, Sat. night on that old Philco radio (that was taller than me) listing to Ole Hank, Cousin Minnie Peral, and Roy Acuff w/Bashful Brother Oswald play that Doebro guitar. "Brought to you by Martha White Flower." Now that was real (and clean) entertainment.

I believe you have a real winner here Pappy. This has to be the best thread I've ever seen here or any place else. It just kind of makes me feel good all over, reminising about country stuff. Hope this goes on for a long time. What did Loretta Lynn say? "If Your Looking at Me, Your Looking at Country."

Sitting on the front porch at night listening to the whiper- wills.
Catching lighting bugs, and putting them in a jar. A big Black Diamond Watermelon in a #3 wash tub full of ice water. The smell of coffee perking on the stove in the morning. A can of Prince Albert, and some rolling papers in your over-alls pocket. Hearing the chatter of new born Pee-Peas in the hen house. Snapping green beans for canning. |
