I worked on cars for 5 years, starting when I was 15. Then went to work on a farm, then worked plumbing and heating for 5 more. I then went into the Air Force working on all kinds of aircraft for the next 20 years. Retired from the military and started painting aircraft for the Air Force again. I almost feel simi retired. Still working on that..that's about it for me...Buster......

I started off turning wrenches fixing cars, but after a while I hated to work on my own, then went to selling the parts, then went into Law Enforcement also a Dare Officer, now a Sergeant working Security at a Native American Casino. But I miss teaching kids the Dare Program. (very rewarding)

Guess it's my turn... from 14 to 16, I worked a cold soda cart on Boat House Row, FDR Park and Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia. Senior year of high school, I started loading planes at PHL airport in Cargo City which was eventually bought by a competitor. At 19, wasn't getting the hours or money so I got a tie job in Philly. I was a messenger for hand deliveries for a law firm. That wasn't cutting it either so at 20, I got a job at an international copier company. I just started my 21st year there and have had many roles including account coordinator, trainer and now being primed for a management position... and no, I am not in service so I can't fix your copier.

Default Hi there everyone

I am a Paramedic/Dispatcher for a local ambulance company that covers all of Chicago and most of the suburbs. Its great because I have literally been down every street in the city.I also get to alot of great concerts and sporting events at work. Its also a great way to understand and get familiar with so many cultures. Its exciting and MDing is a way to relax-just put on those headphones -and goodbye-Im in a whole new zone.As you can guess-being a medic sends me to all extremes, and getting into this hobby is very theraputic .Plus I have two young boys-so I want to stock up on treasure before they start MDin so I can always stay ahead of the game!!!

Default Interesting Thread!

Very interesting thread. I guess I'll contribute.
I was a Firefighter and EMT for 10 years. I left the fire service in the mid 80's and opened a gym. I trained and managed pro boxers for many years. I closed the gym but continued managing and training pro and amateur boxers. For the last 12 years I have been working strictly as a Cutman for pro boxers and UFC and MMA fighters. My job allows me to travel all over the world and I have met a lot of interesting characters.... to say the least! From old timers like Jake Lamotta to current guys like Ricky Hatton and my good Pal, "Irish" Micky Ward.
Today, I work more with the UFC guys than with boxers.
I just ordered my first MD last night and I'm looking forward to the warmer weather so my dog "Rocky" and I can get out and do some hunting!
Happy Holidays everyone!

Default what do you do for a living?

For 22 years I worked as the Fire Marshal for a Horse Race Track in Pennsylvania. Currently I am working for the Dept of Military & Veterans Affairs @ Fort Indiantown Gap as a Security Officer/Dispatcher for their Police Dept. If I would have known Law Enforcement was so much fun, maybe I would have gone and been a Police Officer instead of a Fire Fighter.

Default Jack of all trades master of none!

I own a sheet metal job shop. Cnc programmer, turret punch press operator, brake press operator, spotwelder, deburrer, janitor, maintenance, accountant, purchaser, well you get the idea. I really don't care what they call me as long as they throw money!

Also was volunteer EMT on local ambulance service for 15 yrs.

Now just looking for time to metal detect!

Happy holidays & happy hunting!

Steve
