Back in my "younger" years, I worked commercial construction for 5 years. I got tired of swinging a hammer and went to work for a fabrication shop building industrial fans. A few months later I went back to school and got transferred to the engineering dept. and started my career as a design engineer. During that time I also took care of their computer network. After 8 years with that company I decided it was time for a change. For the last 9 years I have been working as a Systems Administrator for a large law firm.

My hobbies make MD'ing perfect for me.
I like hiking so the walking doesn't bother me.
I like to golf so I am use to hunting small round objects.
I also love photography so I can post my finds.

I left the Air Force after 20+ years, worked for the state of DE and then went to work at the Pentagon. This passed Sept, I resigned my gov't position and became an Independent Consultant providing guidance on information, computer, emission, physical and industrial security at all classification levels. Stress levels are way down and life has slowed to the point I can see individual colors instead of a fuzzy gray D.C. blur.

Started out in High School taking drafting then went to a local State Tech college and got my Associates Degree in mechanical drafting. I only did that for a couple of years then I got into printed circuit board design. I'm now a Sr. PCB Designer with a local electronics company. Recently got my CID+ (Certified Interconnect Designer Advanced). We make high speed audio/video routers and switchers for the broadcasting industry. I've been designing PCB's for almost 30 years.

I spent about 30 years in a steel mill starting at the bottom and working up to supervisor for more than half of it. We were bought out by a company that went bankrupt then by an investment group that decided that they wanted to do away with the particular level of management that I was in, was offered an opportunity to go back into the rank and file, but from what I was seeing, decided to take my pension and severence and run.

I took a course in Real Estate and have been doing that since 2004, working alot from home, and taking advantage of these slow times to work on projects that I'd been putting off for years. Now I just got to finish everything I started and get out detecting more.

...A wide and varied career...I worked as a production manager for Dell Computer Corporation for 7 years (I started before Michael Dell made his first million!)...then moved on to work for myself for the next 6 years (I owned a commercial roofing company)...then the wife got tired of my constant traveling (kids at home then) so I became a civil servant for the next 7 years - I served as the Deputy Executive Director - and later an Executive Director for public housing authorities in Pennsylvania and Tennessee...now I'm a senior account executive for Honeywell...promoting energy reduction building retrofits to public housing authorities... I WILL retire in 4 more years to become a full-time treasure hunter!

I have a degree in business from the University of Texas (Hook 'em Horns!) and write wierd fiction...working on a short story where the main character is...an MD'er!

Worked in a factory for many years which made conveyor belts for paper mills. After some years, I decided I wanted to work for myself so I started a Sign business. My husband and I both run the sign shop and I also own a Screenprinting Business. I am also an educator as I homeschool two of my children.

Various hobbies are
MDing (of course)
Fishing
Quilting
and much more!

Thought i'd throw in my two cents. Like many others i'm a retired law enforcement officer. Got my masters degree in bio/chem from UCLA and was hired two weeks after graduation by the DEA. Started out in San Diego, CA., went to Brownsville, TX., Swanton,VT., and ended up in Newark, NJ. I spent my first 7 years in the field, and then 13 years in the lab. If you've ever seen the show CSI, I was a lab analyser testing for various substances. Was not as exciting as the tv show, but was very interesting. You'd be amazed how drugs are broken down and disguised in order to smuggle them into the country. Now i'm retired, and not doing much of anything. I'm married with two teen daughters, so I may be retired but I have plenty of things to keep me busy

As many of you guys already know, I am, and have been a graphic designer for almost 20 years now... currently I work for the San Antonio Express-News as an editorial page designer for several community-based papers.

Previously I had worked for the Texas Lottery Commission for 5 years in their Marketing Department.

I also do portraits and freelance work to supplement my income.

I've included some of my newspaper covers, as well as some ideas for a logo I'm working on.

Portrait Artist - LOVE those newspaper covers!! I got my B.A. in Technical Writing, which is technically an English degree but with more focus on instructional material, visual elements within documentation, layout design and both online and print marketing material.... so I like to think I can appreciate a well-done document when I see one

Anyway, about my job... I ended up at Kellyco because my Uncle is the director of IT here. Kellyco is big, but it's family owned so me being here was encouraged and it works really well - My Uncle is one of my best friends, and he's only 10 years older than me so we practically grew up together. We were both raised on land where the Battle of Natural Bridge was fought. There's a couple thousand acres within the family, and my grandfather dug up some amazing things. Thanks to a metal detector, his home is practically a civil war museum... and he was well-known and highly respected in Tallahassee for his research. So Kellyco seemed like a natural fit, and it most certainly was!

Wow, I'm feeling chatty today!! Not sure if that's all relevant to the job, but it feels like it!
