Fajardo is a town on the East coast of Puerto Rico. In 1898, it was selected as the invasion point for the American troops. The Spanish got wind of this and the Americans opted for Guanica instead.
However, Fajardo did receive an "invasion force", if you could call it that. On August 2nd at 2300, the American Naval commanders, Captains Barclay and Rogers, decided to land a small party of 28 Marines and sailors to take the lighthouse. [Image]... |
