Way back then one could see far, this was due to the fact my grandparants and their parents had cleared the land to homestead. Fields were cleared of trees and rocks picked off and placed at the edges of the woods. I remember climbing on top of the outhouse and looking into the distance. It seemed that one could see forever. My favorite clouds were those big ones that looked like pop corn. From my grandmother's house i could always see this big dark thing in the field way off. I always thought it was a bear, course it was always in the same place each day. But still to me it was a bear. Guess that's why i never ventured far....
