Make the Most of Every Moment - Part I

Lately I've been thinking about how quickly we move through life - and how easy it sometimes becomes for us to take things for granted. A post that I read on TQ the other day talked about a seven year old girl spending "Daddy Time" detecting with her father - what a wonderful way to spend time together - and what a great Dad to make quality time for his little girl!
Reading that post made me think about the great times I had with my own daughter...Amber's mother and I divorced when she was very young, and as a result, she spent most of her growing-up years with me...we were best buddies and did everything together - we took a trip to Alaska when she was four years old, spending two weeks whale watching, climbing on glaciers, riding a glass-top train through the mountains - and seeing every form of wildlife you can imagine...bears, eagles, moose...what a trip! Then it was Disneyland, Disneyworld, Disney on Ice and Sesame Street Live!...I've lost count of how many times I watched The Little Mermaid and The Lion King! As she got older, we parasailed, rafted, snowmobiled, hiked, biked and raced go-karts. She was the perfect picture of "Daddy's Girl".
Then, when I thought it couldn't get any better, I married Peggy and was blessed with another daughter - Erin. Erin's father had passed away when she was a baby, and she was ten years old when Peggy and I were married. I adopted Erin - and have never considered her anything but MY daughter.
