Painting The Ace

As some of you know, I have decieded to paint my ace250...Pink!! Why? Because I want to, because I like to be different, because I want my ace to stand out at the TQ Hunt, because its winter and have nothing better to do with my time. Ok that last one is not intirely true, I have plenty of things to do in winter.
Why pink? Its my favorite color and why not. I do have it all painted hot pink now, but I'm not done with it yet. I also want to paint black flames on the front of the control box and within those flames I want my name Indy painted in them. Now I just have to figure out how to accomplish this. I will probably have to free hand the flames, so thats scareing me a little bit. If it looks like crap then I will either paint it all black or sand it down and start over. After I get the detailing done , then I will need to seal it so that it doesn't scratch the paint off.
When I get it all done,and to my satisfaction, I will post pictures of it.
And then all of you will be going Ooooooo and aaaaaahhh..... and saying "I want my detector painted pink just like INDY's"

Go for it INDY...Flames are cool. You can use some clear coat paint over your work when you are done...Be sure to post a picture when you are done...Buster...

I think that will look cool.Maybe use the services of a sign shop and get your name by using a stencil that will just stick on.You can get any kind of fancy lettering on a stencil.Are you going to 'candystripe' the rods?

Hot pink with black flames? Sounds weird, but I say go for it.
Not that I can talk, my dinky toy is camo painted. |

I think painting it pink would be a great way to personalize it. Go for it.......I might put some flames on my detector of choice. See you may have started something, customized metal detectors. Be sure to post a picture when it's complete.

here's a thought for you also, paint the whole thing black, draw and cut out some masking tape with the flame pattern you want, lay it out of the control house where you want the flames, then paint everything pink again. when it dries, remove the masking tape and you should have black flames on top of your pink control box. just a thought anyway.
