Smile They're out there

Hey Jimmy

I seem to remember some rules for the Israelites after they left Egypt concerning the waste dump must be outside the camp. Goes a long way back. Anyway the maps are out there. Here is an example from Carver County Minnesota. You could look at the state level or higher.

What part of the world do you live in, State, County? Country? Hemisphere? Planet?

Thanks
Leo

Default Map

Hi,, This Map Looks New..I Don't Think All Of These Are Actual Town Or Rural Dumps. Some Of Them Are Though. Most Of Them Are Toxic Waste Sites Like Factories Etc. These Are Sites That Need To Be Cleaned Up..You Can Go To The EPA Sites Etc. And Get Maps Like You Have.. I Have Located 89 Town And Rural Dumps So Far Around My Area..But Most Are From Late 30's On Up..Oh By The Way I'm From The Planet ZILON.. Thanks

If you're in a rural area, people did and still do dump on their own land. We used to do that when I was growning up. I would take it a few acres away from the house, but it was on our property...not on any map that I know of. I wasn't trying to cause a conspiracy.

Default Wow

Hi, I Realize That Some People Did Dump On Their Own Land And Some People Probably Still Do. I Would Also Like To Say That Probably 99.99.% Would Not Be On Any Map. All I Was Trying To Say Is I Have Never Seen Any Dumps On Any Of My Maps!! Further More I Have Talked To Many City And Town Officials From Different Towns & Cities Around Here About Maps And Dump Locations.. All Of Them Had About The Same Reply (Oh The Records Got Burned Up Or Lost)..I Find It Ironic That A Fire Burned All Of The Records Around Here Or Some Ghost Took Them All..I Believe It's All Hushed Up Around Here In Fear Of The EPA Finding Out Because They Would Be Forced To Clean It Up Costing The Town Millions Or Billions Of Dollars..Maybe Your Area Is Different I Can Only Speak My Opinion About What It's Like To Find Dumps On Maps Around Here.. The Town Officials Around Here Want To Know Everyones Business But You Will Probably Never Know Theirs... Sorry If I Offended Anyone..... Thanks

You didn't offend me I was pokin' fun just a little and probably shouldn't have. Sorry 'bout that, I'm just a bit on the silly side sometimes. Come on, now, you're in the TQ family now, you gotta take some ribbin' with the best of 'em.

Seriously, though, I didn't mean to make it sound like I was out right makin' fun. That is sorta weird that you can't find any sign of the dumping sites, though. I sure hope you can come across something.

Default I'm Down With That

Hi, I Apologize If You Or Anyone Else Thought I Got Mad About This Whole Issue And Perhaps Conspiracy Was A Bad Choice Of Words.. I'm Usually Not Very Loquacious And Lately I Have Been Very Lackadaisical About Every Thing.. I Have Been Doing Way To Much Research And Watching Way To Much CNN Lately.. To Make Matters Worse I Have Been Thinking About The Modifications I Want To Do To My Fisher And Garrett Metal Detectors..These Experiments & Soldering Fumes Are Starting To Take Their Toll On Me..Then There's Band Practice I Got To Keep Up On My Guitar Practice Daily.. I Just Have Way To Many Thoughts Coming To Me About New And Innovative Ideas Pertaining To Treasure Hunting.... I Will Shut Up Now,,, My Finger Is Getting Tired........ Thanks

Default Bottle Dump Digging

The two most common questions a Bottle digger gets are 1) What's it worth? and 2) How did you know where to dig?

Both questions require KNOWLEDGE to answer correctly and the first question is way easier to answer than the second.

Knowing where to dig comes from years of experience - my blog Dumpdiggers dispenses some of this information in the following posts:

How To Find Old Dumps #1
An introduction to the subject and a brief description of surface indications of Town Dumps.

How To Find Old Dumps #2
The use of historic maps and the presence of bogs and river gulches INSIDE the boundaries of towns. This post links to Antique-Bottles.net conversation.

How To Find Old Dumps #3
Farm dumps and why they're the most common dump. Here's where to look and what you can expect to find.

My next post in the series will be railroad dumps.

Anyway this is an old thread, so I don't know if my reply here is a total waste of time, but I've wasted more time doing less productive things...

Resurrecting older posts is a great way to get older information to newer members. I have never thought of this as a bad thing. Sometimes buried information HAS to be brought to the surface to be useful to everyone. Thanks for bring this one up from the depths.
