Here are two "pop tops" from my collection.
The one on the left is from the EMPIRE BOTTLING CO DENVER the bottom has what looks like a large 0 with a line vertically through the center and a second identical mark partially overlaying the first. The one on the right is from STANDARD BOTTLING CO. DENVER COLO. with S B Co. on the bottom. Both are free of chips, cracks and stains but have small surface abrasions. Thanks again, cjoej |

Pictured is an old bottle I found in the woods near my house. I have found several old bottles. I do not know anything about bottles. The bottle has a number on the bottom 1867. You can not see the one very well in the picture. I would like to hear if anyone know anything about this type of bottle.

mabey you can find one and give me some info.years ago(60's) i found a bottle that was around 8 inches tall aqua, and was embossed in an oval "usa hospital" i know that when i found it it was valued at around $100.I sold it unfortunatly for $50 a couple of years ago.when i set it on the counter i said 50 and the guy never batted an eyelash just layed down a 50 and said thanks. Now im just wondering how bad i messed up by selling it so cheap.I'm thinking this bottle could have dated to the 17 or early 1800's as we found other bottles from that period in that area.Thank's...Terry

TERRY, With the way you describe the bottle it sounds like a UNION HOSPITAL BOTTLE from the CIVIL WAR...In the 60's they were selling anywhere from $150.00 to $225.00 depending on the condition. Probably now it would go for around $350.00....PAPPY
