Default Little Bottle

ERIC, Your little bottle is from the McKesson Pharmaceutical Company located at #1 Post St. in San Francisco Calif. The company was started in the late 1800's and now employes 24,600 people and in 2004 it earned approx. 647 million dollars. Your bottle is from the late 1970's or early 1980's and contained asprin at one time.
When you locate a bottle dump, the older bottles or glass items are going to be around 3' to 6' or maybe more deep. You need to explore a least 2' down to see what it contains. Very Very seldom are you going to locate old bottles on top of the ground at any site. Keep on digging and you will hit that lucky spot and find some really good bottles....PAPPY

why would stuff that recent be with stuff that old? do people still dump thier bottles in the woods? the house that this dump is behind is one of the oldest in the town. sometime in the 1700's.

Default Zinc Lids

ERIC, The zinc lids with the glass inserts are worth about $5.00-$7.00 each if they are in good shape. They were made during the 1800's up until around the early 1900's.If you are locating these lids at the site there are bound to be some really nice jars and bottles there too...KEEP ON LOOKING AND DIGGING AT THAT SITE...PAPPY

P.S. DIG DEEPER

Default HOUSE FROM THE 1700's

ERIC, You would probably start locating bottles from a house site that old about 4'-5' Deep and they would probably continue down to about 8'-10' deep depending on how often they used the dump....DIG DOWN BUDDY....PAPPY

P.S. THAT WOULD BE A REALLY GREAT PLACE TO SIFT TOO.

ok thanks pappy. i am gonna go back tomarrow and dig deeper. without the jar the lids are worth that much? there are a few different kinds, some are just plain some have 2 circles in the center and 1 that i found look like the pic i attached. the word under my thumb is "CONSOLIDATED".

p.s. sorry for all this stuff but i found this porcelain dopey awhile back about 100 yards away from the above dump in a different dump. have been looking all over for info but cant find any.

Default Jar Lid Insert And Dopey

ERIC, The Consolidated lid insert that you have pictured is worth approx.$4.00 without the lid. The Dopey came from a set so you may find more of the set.The Dopey is an original Disney product and I would guess it to be worth about $8.00-$10.00 and if you had the whole set it would be worth about $100.00 or more.....PAPPY

sorry for all these questions pap but your the only one i know that knows something about everything. do you know the age on dopey? this is the last for tonight i promise. this is the same as a bottle that i found it says BAYER on the top and on the sides it says BAYER COMPANY. the reason i ask is because i thought this was old but it looks similair to the one i posted above.
