Default Discovery 2200

I have purchased a discovery2200 off ebay today for a friend who is a begginer. Can anybody tell me about this machine? I got it for real cheap so i know that i won't lose on this.

This friend of mine will be following me to ghost town, swimming holes and a lot of different relic sites. What modes are available and what mode should she use to detect real trashy areas?

I would really appreciate any help or input.

I will be purchasing my first detector tomorrow from radioshack. It is the discovery 3300. Never tried this but I think I’ll enjoy the challenge of hunting. Military taught me a different king of hunting and this hobby I think will prove enjoyable. I live near FT Benning, GA…

Thank you, PAPPY for your warm welcome. I’m anxious to get things started. I’ll surly ask lots of questions if I get stuck trying to figure this thing out. I plan to read the manual online tonight and get somewhat accustomed to the detector before I pick it up tomorrow.

I've got the 2200, and it's been working really well for me.... no silver yet, but has no problems finding stuff.
