Default Does this look like a proof V-Nickel to you?

I think this is a proof Liberty nickel. What do you think? If it's not....I probably paid too much for it.

Thumbs up Is it proof?

That would be hard to tell from the photo, I would say send it to a grading service to have it verified and slabed.

Sure is a nice one though.

It looks like a very clear field, but it's hard to tell from the pictures. Post a few more pics with different background and different lighting if you don't mind.

There are a few marks in the field...as well as a couple rim dings. I'll take some more pictures of it when it gets here. I paid about half the price of a pr60.....so I think somebody else thought it was a proof besides me.

The strength of the strike is what made me think that it was. The "I" in Liberty is always weak on these nickels....and look at that one. The hair detail is also much more pronounced than on a few MS-63s on eBay.

Hi Wyatt

If the coin was mine I would be praying that it was a Mint State coin ,, its a beauty and worth way more mint state than proof .

But thats not your question sorry .

Im pretty sure that the type of strike will be more evident with the coin in hand , but from the surfaces it stands a good chance to be a proof .

I hope the color is more of a picture anomoly than true .
