If you arent talking about going thru rolls of coins and mean rolling them to turn them in... then dont waist you time. I use a very cheap tumbler for clad and take mine to my bank (chase) they run them and credit my account.

Yes, buying rolls of coins from banks and going through them looking for silver..."S" proofs...etc.

I tried to buy of box of halves today but the bank only had $130 worth so I got them and there is 14 1967 & 1 1965. I was just curious as to how may people did this.

I ordered a box but it will not come in until next week.

I did it for the first time yesterday. I went to a bank to buy a box of halves which they didn't have but they had $130 worth in a bag so I bought them. I found 14-1967 & 1-1965 so I was pretty excited about it. I ordered a box but it will not be in until the end of next week.

Good luck ! I've been thinking about this and i was thinking about ways of mabey finding the best rolls.I know that alot of older folks will save rolled coins for years and i was thinking that mabey you could take out an add in the paper stating that you would be interested in purchasing rolled coins.Anyone else have any ideas on this ?

Great to see a CRH section here. I'm new to it myself and look forward to learning from experienced as well as new coin roll hunters.

Last week I searched through $275 worth of quarters; not one Silver but not surprised as I'd heard quarters are about the toughest there is. Filled a lot of holes in my new coin folders, though.

Now I've begun on rolls of pennies we had in the closet for years with a Tripoly game. The newest penny in the rolls is 1985, so I figured Wheats should be pretty easy to find. WRONG Been through 1100 so far and not one Wheat. So far I've found 4 Canadian pennies, with one being a 1943 King George; don't have a clue on its' value, but a neat find, for me anyway

Sure is a nice way to spend a winter evening!!

I have been searching rolls and change buckets for years and can confirm that the hardest thing to find (besides silver dollar, of course) are silver quarters. So far I have found just one in circulation. My father in law dumped the change from his pockets on the table and there was a 1964 quarter... so I claimed it.
I have found wheats, old nickels, silver halves and silver dimes. But I can say this, I have had to replace so many Canadian pennies and re-roll pennies using my own paper rolls that it has almost not been worth the search. But it is still fun to do in the winter especially.
In the past 3 weeks, I have received 33 Ike dollars from different bank tellers. Not silver, but still a not so common find these days.
