Default Someone get this now!!

I was cruzing around on ebay and came across this.

eBay: $34,000 worth of coins & bullion lot (item 120085017570 end time Feb-18-07 21:04:56 PST)

This looks wonderful. I have basically no money to my name so I can not even bid on it.

I have one hard and fast rule on eBay.....I NEVER bid on "pig in a poke" deals. They gotta show me the goods I'm bidding on....not a picture of their storefront from a year ago. I just don't trust these kind of listings. Seems to me he'd just go to a coin show and do a blowout.....and go home with nothing but cash in hand. That kind of auction is fishy.

I agree with wyatt,, these kinds of auctions seldom pan out ,, there are no pictures of coins,, there is not even a description that is worth anything on the auction page,,

and then there is the question of why a coin dealer who is moving has left over inventory ?

No way would I bid on such an auction.

Why metal man....I'm surprised you missed the retirement part. The guy's retiring at the ripe old age of what....maybe 36 years? I should have been buying and selling coins these past 15 years.

My guess is he ain't movin' far.......not off the proceeds from that sale.

I did miss the retirement part ,, but then again all I needed to know was in the auction title,,

I would expect the winning bidder to get one or two coins for the money !!

The guy did not say that He was selling the whole lot for one money.

If this guy runs another auction of the same title I will report him .

Question I'm Confused

I'm not sure what i'd be bidding if I were to bid. A coin? A lot of coins? The whole store? Under "View Sellers Other Items" there are 6 other items listed the same way. I'm lost. What am I missing??

eBay Seller: tanmonopolist: Coins US, Coins Paper Money items on eBay.com

Thanks
Leo

It's an out and out con. The guy leads you to believe that you're bidding on the remaining inventory....but never says what that is. These kinds of auctions are against eBay's listing policy.

He could spend it before selling it for nothing.
