Default Morgan grading/value

I asked Pappy but really shoulda put my request in here sry!I would like to know the grade and value of this 1878 Morgan Dollar. Its suppose to be a 79 reverse.I looked it up in the redbook and looks to me to be a third reverse.I bought it on ebay for $25.00.I'm buying them for a son who has shown an interest in coins.Any advice would help me in learning the grading of coins.Thanx all!

She's in nice shape. "Liberty" shows up well. lettering is sharp, not really any deep gouges. Keep in mind, those coins will never really go down in value. Morgans are my favorite. I've dug 4 of them. Don't regret your purchase.

Cool As a guess,I would say..

say a extra fine maybe a low AU but would have to see it in person to be 100%. Can send me a high MP pic and I will do my best. I buy and sale many Morgans and know them fairly well grade wise. Tom at Montani coins.
