Camera Recommendation Round #2

Thanks to those who responded to my questions last time.

Getting into the specifics.

#1 - Lens ... as a couple of people have said it needs to have a good lens in order to take good shots.

Question - how can you tell if it has a good lens for shooting pictures ... especially whne looking at cameras over the internet? In hand would be a lot easier.

#2 - Memory ... are there different types of memory?

#3 - take picture ... put on computer

Question - is this still done by hooking it directly into the computer or have the created any discs or other mechanisms to transfer?
