WOW, impressive Indy, very impressive !!!
I like #3 the best, a good portrait !!! I may have to use your "flashlight technique" myself !!! Shoot the moon, hmmmmmmmm, how would I shoot that scene ?!?!?! Without having done this before............. 1st off the moon is nothing but a front lighted scene, a dim one, but still a front lighted scene, 2nd I would set my f stop around an f-8 to f-11 since depth of field isn't a concern and to take maximum advantage of your lens, 3rd I wouldn't want to use too long of a shutter speed (I am guessing maybe 1 second to 1/8 of a second shutter speed) as any wind may move my tripod or my scene / foreground just enough to create a "fuzzy" picture. So in order to get a 1 second to an 1/8 second shutter speed with an f-8 or f -11 f-stop, I would adjust the ISO...............my best guess If you don't have a cable for a manual shutter release, (old 35mm speak here) try using the automatic timer built into your camera, set it for say 10 seconds, start the timer while your camera is on the tripod and back away, hopefully the 10 seconds will be enough time for your camera to quit wiggling. Adjusting the ISO used to be one of my favorite tricks when shooting 35mm film, just because the film says ISO 400 doesn't mean you can't set your camera up for ISO 800 or ISO 200, think of it like changing the f stop on your lens ................... The halo, I am not sure about that ............. Dan ............... Last edited by dooby; 05-29-2007 at 11:10 PM. |
