Exclamation PC#23 Winter!

The theme for pc23 is winter. Its been hot here & I'm starting to miss the cool weather.
It can be any type of winter scene. Snow capped mountains, falling snow, frozen pond - anything that says cold weather!

Please submit your best photographs ( 3 or less) and please try to use the correct Title Line, and Submission Format, as a reply to this thread.

Contest ends 9/7/07 at midnight central time.

Prize will be a set of digital jeweler's scales. GREAT PRIZE!

UNLESS YOU LIVE "WAY DOWN UNDER" OR "NORTH OF ALASKA", SOME ARCHIVE PHOTOS WILL BE IN ORDER!

Here are my PHOTOGRAPHS for the photo challenge, winter. I took these during the rare easter snow of this year in Virginia.

VERY NICE PHOTOS DAVID! ESPECIALLY #1. I TOOK THE LIBERTY OF SAVING IT, AND PROCESSING IT IN IRFANVIEW, CROPPING IT SO AS TO PRESENT THE PHOTOGRAPH USING THE "RULE OF THIRDS". NOTICE HOW FAST THE HUMAN EYE GOES DIRECTLY TO THE REDBIRD WHEN YOU USE THAT RULE IN COMPOSING THE PHOTO. THAT IS ONE OF THE WAYS YOU CAN LEAD THE VIEWER INTO YOUR PHOTOGRAPH, AND MAKE IT EVEN MORE INTERESTING.

P.S. We try to use the word photo or photograph to describe our "works of art" on the Digital Camera Forum. The old saying is; "one takes or snaps a pic, or snapshot, one creates a PHOTOGRAPH."

These photos are the best I could find. I hope they will count Beaufort, SC doesn't get snow too often. I love Pigeon Forge TN so I used this photo as my #1. My second photo was taken in Pickens, SC which is in the upper part is the state. The third photo is taken in Babcock State Park, Fayette County, WV ( WV is bigbillinsc's home state). Enjoy I did!!

The images are too small to view correctly. In addition the bottom two images cannot be clicked on to view larger. Suggestion...save your images full size, and then open them in IRFANVIEW (see instructions on this free download program at: http://www.treasurequestxlt.com/comm...al-camera.html in the Digital camera Forum).

Follow the instructions in the post listed above, download the program, then open your images in that program. Save your images there at 800x600 pixels, and set the compression slide bar to 80%. Then when you attach the images to your post here, they will open larger when clicked on.

Give it a try....you'll like it!
