just learned to do long exposures at night!
Took this a few nights back. am really learning about long exposures and the correct settings for optimum night shots.
Please let me know what you think of this shot? It is the water tower out back. I live in a REALLY small town  I should have posted the original as it has been copied too many times. You can see it is starting to pixelate and get jagged. i will fix later when home. LONGGUNNER

Thanks! i am anxious to post more pics and hear what people say about them. It is funny, sometimes a photo i like turns out to be not so hot to others and vice versa.

No, On trips I take my husband's Konica Minolta. I have never really used a polarizer. I am thinking of starting photography school.

Well it looks like you used one so congratulations! A basic course is all you really need. Rule of thirds, composition, ISO, F stop etc. If you have a better digital you will be able to shoot in all manual mode which is just like using a SLR. I have found it to be wonderful! It is amazing how tweaking the settings just a bit change the look of your photo. With digital you can keep tweaking and shooting until you get what you want. one very important thing I have learned is to take a tripod everywhere! Makes all the difference in the world if you use a tripod. Even on a sunnny day.

I have a Canon digital eos. I just don't take it on long trips because of the weight.
