When you're out in the woods and the snow is like that you can feel the whole world at peace around you. Suddenly, all is right with the world. Then a skidoo comes screaming by you at 80 mph and the dream is shattered. I do miss it but not enough to go back.

Yeah I know what ya mean,There's a snowmobile trail about 20 yards from my house ! We havent had alot of snow so they dont buzz by all that much and I've learned to tune it out. Were we were at yesterday doesent get that much traffic so it's usually pretty peacefull. On a full moonlit night you can hear cototes yipin and some say there is a "Glowworm Beastie" that lives there ! True story that my Dad told me....When my Dad was a kid he used to coon hunt in that area. One night he was there alone with his dog when the dog ran off and was chasing something when all of a sudden the dog howled in pain and there was a spine tingling scream ! Dad said the hair stood up on the back of his neak and he ran all the way back home scared shi...rtless ! He looked for the dog but never saw him again.I've spent many a night there all alone and havent lured the beast out yet ! but it is my favorite place to get away from it all and there's some really good detectin there so beastie or not I'm there !....not really I get scared shi...rtless every time I go there at night !

I've heard you talk about this Glowworm beastie before. I'm surprised you found those buttons all those years later. I'd get freaked out hangin' around an area like that by myself, even if it's high noon.

You would love it there Pris ! Peacefull and quiet, and there are several old foundations along roads that you cant even drive a 4 weeldrive on anymore. There are stonewall lined roads all through there that date back to the 1700's.There are sites that you could stay there for days and never see another human being.Oh yeah that reminds me of another story ! So as Chick says to make a short story long....About 25 years ago my elderly neighbor (Earl)dissapeared one day in this area. Some hunters found him several month's later. He had gotten his leg tangled in some barbedwire fence. My parents bought some of his property were we have "the pond" About 5 years ago my buddy bought an old pickup truck and drove it to "the pond" when he got it there we were looking at the paper work and one of the papers was the death certificate for Earl witch read "death by barbed wire" come to find out it was earls truck returned home !

Hey RIP, just now reading this post. That's pretty amazing, indeed. I'm sure I would love it, it sounds beautiful...I would like to have one of those new GPS things that sends a distress signal if you get lost, though. Would hate to be killed by barbed wire.

See, that's the problem I would have...no Glow Worm beastie for me, thank you very much. I appreciate the sentiment, but I have seen WAY too many horror movies in my time and I know that when the scary music starts to play, somethin's gettin' ready to jump out atcha!
