Default Theadore the Tug to replace Bluenose?

From the land of the Bluenose.....as you folks know the Bluenose schooner graces the back of our dime here in Canada. Could you imagine having Theadore replace that noble lady of the sea?

No I Can't Imagine It! I hope this is a joke, Mate! Maybe the Americans would like to change their national bird to the Turkey instead of the Bald Eagle. Have the politicians gone Mad?
My great grandad built and captained schooners out of Labrador at a time in our history where schooners and the cargo they hauled were an essential part of Canadian life. The Bluenose was the very best of those Beautiful Ships.
I really hope this is one of your jokes, inspired by too many Tim Bits perhaps??

Ben Franklin already tried that: ClickonDetroit.com - Ben Franklin On The Turkey As National Bird . But I agree, a cartoon character is aweful.

Thanks

Very True, Leo. Wise Old Ben also proposed that the Revolutionary Army use English Long Bows instead of Muskets against the British Redcoats during the American Revolution because he felt they were more accurate. I think Ben Franklin may have gotten ZAPPED by a few more volts than we realize.

Cheers,

BDA

Now that you mention it I vaguely remember something about that. All that wood and not much metal to make arms comes to mind, but school was so long ago...... But still, if Canada does adopt a tugboat, maybe a vote for Thomas the tank, or is that already reserved for the country of origin. . Jay Jay the jetplane would be ok.

Thanks
Leo
