Do you use the Macro......little flower,that would bring it in

If you don't have a macro setting on your camera (small flower) where you can get close to the object to photograph, or a scanner with high resolution, consider using a jeweler's loop in front of your camera lens. It will take some time to get used to how to do it, but that is another suggestion.

I have a copier , scanner but I thought putting metal thru it would damage it! Am I thinking in terms of "The old days again"?I also have a large magnifying glass.TNX!

I use a Radio Shack lighted 60x-100x magnifier, its ten bucks and great for coins because the built in light kills the shadows of a jewelers glass. All you do is put the scope directly on the eye of your camera lens and focus the image threw the view finder. This is for exteme closeups like errors and odd mint marks.
