Another thought..
Lots of light.. If your shooting inside, and your camera is on an auto setting it will slow down the shutter speed in order to compensate for low light. The slower the shutter speed the longer the exposure takes and the more any hand shaking will be noticeable.. Any time I have to go below 125th of a second I try and use a tripod..
The older I get the more the tripod comes out.

Gary..looks like the pictures are coming out good...Lots of good silver in the one shot...I have heard about using a magnifying glass to get in even closer..you might try that to see if that works a little better..Right now the shots look good...Buster...

Any help will be appreciated.

Here are some steps that can help:

OPTION A:
1. Press Macro button (tulip icon)
2. Place camera on a tripod or another make shift way to steady the camera for low light/slow shutter speed operation. This is necessary to use properly use macro.
3. Raise tripod approimately 12-14" from object. Adjust distance as necessary.
4. Change resolution to lowest resolution for forum posts and email (optional).
5. TURN OFF FLASH (lightning bold with red circle and line through it)
6. Set self timer to prevent camera shake
7. Depress shutter half way until "beep" is heard
8. Fully depress shutter

OPTION B:
USE HIGHEST RESOLUTION AND TAKE PHOTO FROM 3 or 4 FEET AWAY, Then use the crop feature on your photo editing tool to delete unwanted areas.

This should give you sharp photos each time. I like to use outdoor lighting, later in the day when the shadows are beginning to lengthen. This will bring out details in the coin.
