Default This one was a little tough to get !

I used an Olympus FE 170 and had to use the telephoto feature (only 3X)as these guys are hard to sneak up on. To complicate the matter there was not much light as it was dusk. Anyway, I think it is kind of interesting.

Cool owl, you don't get to see them very often.

Indy - you have good eyes. I could not begin to make out what the picture was. Must be my computer or my old eyes.

Very Cool. Can't tell the size but at first I thought it was a great horned own but now I think its head is more shaped like a screech owl. That taken in your yard?

I live in the middle of 36 acres mostly wooded. He was roosting off of my back deck. It is a Barred Owl and he is about 20" tall. They are fairly plentiful in this area which has acres and acres of forestland. It is neat to hear them at night.
