Default Bird pics with my new camera..

Well I went out and bought a new Nikon D80 camera and just got my lens for it today - its a 70-200mm f/2.8 AF-S VR lens and I'm very pleased with it. All theses pics were taken free hand with vibration reduction turned on and zoomed all the way to 200mm. No post editing was done (except resizing)- this is straight from the camera and put on the puter. I can't wait to get it out after the turkeys this spring.
I tried like heck to get this one blue jay - but he didn't want his pic taken today I guess. I know these are not quite as sharp as I wan't them - but there not bad for the first time out with this camera. I got a lot of practicing to do.

Really nice photos Dave. Animal pictures are my favorite and those are great birds shots. Where were they taken? We had alot of Cardinals in Ohio.

Those are some wonderful pictures Dave. I've got the same lens on my D200.
Like it very much.. Some time when your pockets are full think about the 18-70 zoom.. With those two in your bag you pretty much have it covered.
