Default Ruffed Grouse strutting...

I wonder if he knows theres about three feet of snow underneath him. A little early to be starting this - but this guy put on quite a show for me today. Really snowy and cloudy out today - plus hes under some pines. Wish there was some more light. I hope he hangs around in the same area so I get get some real good ones..







Next one I got snow on the lens


Every pic I got of him had one or another dam branch in the way. Guess thats how it goes sometimes. And then he said--- Goodbye---

I think this year is a good one for Grouse,seen more this year than i have in quite a few years.I kicked up one bunch during deer season,must have been close to a dozen ! they was everywere !

Now ya know how i felt when that flock took off ! I just thought of a funny story,I was in Va riding down a country road with a friend,when we seen a grouse in the road ahead.I said to my friend "hey look it's a grouse,you dont see them to ........SPLAT oops !
