Hi, I'm Sorry If You Think I Have A Negative Attitude About This Issue. I Just Want To Say That I Have An Open Mind About Everything Because That's How You Learn New Things. I Have Built Several L Rods Over The Years And Have Been Using L Rods For Years. They Work For Me But I Don't Really Have To Think About Any Specific Target To Find It. I Can Find Pipes,Car Hoods,Outhouse Privies And Stuff Like That. I Am However Very Skeptical On Their Use For Finding Coins Etc. And The Need To Talk To Map Pendulums And L Rods Etc.. I Have Never Tried Map Dowsing So It May Or May Not Work For Me. It Use Seems Very Limited When You Have To Talk To A Pendulum Etc. And Ask For Specific Items In Detail (like coins clad, silver or gold) Or It Will Not Work. I Don't See A Finds Section For Dowsing Just Curious Where Do You Guys Post Your Finds? Thanks JJ

Default I think that most of the better hunters use a form of dowsing.

Many times I find gold at the end of a hunt when I'm tired and my logical mind has quieted down and I am just following my instincts. My last gold find occurred when my battery died in the middle of a hunt. I immediately had an overwhelming desire to find gold in the 10 minutes before the battery died completely. I made a sharp turn from my grid pattern (logical) and followed a beeline to a quarter target and then immediately after that a 14k gold wedding band, the batteries died completely shortly after that.
Your detector can be a divining rod as surely as a willow branch in my mind.

Cheers,

BDA

Default Finds Forum

JJ, That's not a bad idea. We have been posting dowsing finds right along with detector finds...BUT...I'm going to see what I can do to have a seperate Dowsing Finds added to the forum...THANKS for the suggestion.

I 100% agree with you, BDA. I sort of veer from target to target. A very large majority of the time I get a strong urge to veer, I find a pretty good item. Lately, for me it's only a quarter, but hey, at least it's not a penny. I really like that feeling of being pulled to one direction. It's not the first time I've heard anyone talk about it happening. Sometimes it's faint and sometimes it's not. Happens when I'm not really concentrating on the ground.

Hi, Hey Pappy That Would Be Awesome To Have A Finds Section In Dowsing Forum. Thanks Bert Bert I Read All Of Your Lessons And Every Post In The Dowsing Section. I Now Have More Knowledge For Doing That. I Agree With You BDA And Pris I Do The Same Thing I Subconsciously Veer Or Head To A Location For Some Reason Or Another. Thanks All JJ

Default It Happened to Me Again With the Double Ring Find

I was only planning on scouting Tobacco Bay to make sure it was good to hunt with my Newbie, Chris. I want it to be fun for him when he tries detecting for the first time. I figured I'd run a quick pattern and if there were enough targets to justify the trip we'd go to Tobacco Bay. I made a beeline for those rings and got a warm feeling when I reached the spot where the rings were. (no I wasn't peeing in my wetsuit)[Idid that later] Sure enough I pulled 2 14k rings out of the same hole, the signal was okay but not great, kind of like a Bermudian dime but I was eager to dig nonetheless. Very Glad I Did!

Cheers,

BDA
