Default Vibra probe help

I took the batteries out of my vibra probe and left the end off of it when I was not using it. I went to put the end back on and it seemed to have swollen and I could not get it back on. So I put it in my bag and took the battery out of my probe again. I just went to go out detecting and can not find the end. I have looked everywhere. My question is - if I can't find one can I purchase just the end cap? My probe still works but I am afraid I will get dirt in it. Has this happened to anyone else? The fact that it seemd to swell so I could not get the end back on it? I was hoping that now that we have very warm weather that it might of shrunk back to size. Does anyone have any feed back on this? I will continue to look for the cap before I purchase another but just wondirng if it is possible to even do that. Thanks to any sponosrs that might respond. JoAnne

Default A Little Help

JoAnne...If you can't find the screw -on cap that goes with your probe..Go to your local hardware store and take your probe with you. Ask the person there if they have one of the rubber caps like goes on furniture legs that will fit it. They come in all different sizes. Sounds like you had the cap crossthreaded..Hope this helps a little.

I think it just feels like it swells when really it is just a very tight fit. That is what makes it waterproof.

Default Vibraprobe Cap

JoAnne the way that the cap seals itself is by expanding the thick rubber stopper. this happens when you tighten the screw cap which pulls the steel washer up into the thick rubber stopper, thus expanding it. try twisting the knob on top counter clockwise (loosening) while holding the large washer between the twist knob and the thick rubber stopper. do this until its easy to turn and then see if it will fit into the probe.
if it got tightened up while it was out of the probe then it wouldn't go back in.

i hope you find the top and this suggestions helps.
