Default Lincoln penny 3# date?

Ok now ive seen several different kinds of mint errors. But i got this passed down to me from the family, it really has me stumped on its value. Ok now i got a Lincoln cent with only 3 numbers for the date a 197? its in about VG condition. So what do u guys think?

Hi GeneralStukov

Your cent (going from the description) sounds like a filled die ,, this is were part or even much of the design detail becomes clogged with grease metal filings or other substances and does not allow the planchet metal to flow into the design.

These are not uncommon and in most cases carry little or no added value .
