Default Dooby, You safe???

For all those unfamiliar with the current happenings here in North Central Texas, here is a news article.

Star-Telegram.com | 06/18/2007 | Two dead in North Texas floods

Star-Telegram.com | 06/18/2007 | 4 dead in North Texas flooding

Star-Telegram.com: Fort Worth/Dallas News, Sports, Weather, Cowboys, Cars and Jobs

Several of our fellow members live in this area and while fellow member and friend, "Dooby", lives in Denton, it is not that far from the affected area.

Pray for all those affected..

James

Update:12-19-07

I was dispatched to Gainesville early yesterday morning and the pictures do not do it justice. It appears the waters are receding as fast as they rose. It was a flash flood which is common but not at this time of the year around here. We (me and three other volunteer firefighters) used two jet skis and a hovercraft loaned to us by Wylie Texas VFD and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to aid in search and rescue. The scene reminded me of the Katrina Catastrophe. In places water was up to the eaves of houses and cars and trucks tossed around like toys. Trailer houses came lose of their foundations and were floating downstream with the water. There were a couple of places where we actually saw water completely covering the houses. We recovered a total of 60 people with the jet skis and hovercraft. Luckily we didn't find any fatalities but there were others that did.

Toadie!!! You're a role model for us all. Even though I don't live there, I would like to thank you for doing what you do. God Bless!

Been busy finalizing my ark design, Toadie !!!

Thank you for you concern !!!

Glad to hear / see you stayed safe helping those affected in Gainesville !!!! I have seen some "toad floaters" (no pun intended) in my days, but this one took the cake !!!

My beaches / lake shores are quickly disappearing, on the brighter side, party cove is now over what was dry lake shore a couple of months ago and as always, the lakes in Texas will drop again and this time around I will be ready to hunt under what is NOW party cove !!!!
