Hey sarge1stone,

Same thing here using an F2 this morning with the 4"coil at an iron infested older site with lots of modern trash and talk about false hightones with sensitivity set above 2 bars, the F2 actually worked better with 1 bar at this site. Modern twist off bottlecaps hit hard about 4" deep and hit on a cap to an old flip top lighter with an 80 VDI at about 5".

Sensitivity set at 1 bar hit pennies and dimes with hightone audio response at 3" and strong enough to assume a bit more depth can be achieved in less contaminated areas. The tones are good enough IMHO but the meter is there to help nitpick and managed to snag a few nickels among the pulltabs using the VDI#'s. Seriously doubt i would use the notch and haven't tried that feature yet. Found lots of clad and 3 wheats today.

For anyone thinking about the F2 is a fairly lightweight slow motion 2 filter type detector with a very fast reset recovery speed so closely spaced targets will individually respond very quickly. Audio response is 4 tone . Seems to be a very sensitive detector and will hit targets well beyond the outer edge of the coil if senstivity is set too high causing many false signals in close target areas.

Was contemplating getting an accessory coil for another detector but went for the F2 on a whim So far so good. For $199 i like it HH Bill

Hey sarge1stone,

I've only got about 8 hrs total on the F2 and mainly getting aquainted with it right now but the little bit i've used it i'm enjoying the results. It does appear to have the capability to surprise more than a few experienced folks with it's performance and capable of overwhelming a novice due to the sensitivity ( it's hard to decrease those settings rather than cranking them up) . May have a different view after a few more hunts but so far so GOOD.. Happy New Year to you and yours also SARGE1STONE. HH Bill

Humm sounds Kinda like the Titan 2000 XD..I been running the sensitivity at just 2 bars all over the place..Beaches, trash holes and hard clay grass dirt with good pin point accuracy..and it hunts deep finding stuff at 2" to 8" no probs..I find myself reduceing the sensitivity more than increaseing it...Now i am really confused about getting my next detector..My wife wants her christmas present back.lol...I might be looking into the F2, or the Titan 3000 XD.which has a 5 star rating.the control panels are similar ..cant beat either of them for the money..I am Highly impressed with the Titan 2000 XD like ya'll are with the F2, the IDT and notch removal works awesome when needed..for sure keep up the reviews on the F2 there so new..looks like you guys got a good machine..james

Anyone know how it would compare next to the Ace 250?
