Hey warsawdaddy,

I feel your pain and hope for an early spring in MO. I can't even experiment in the basement with the F2 most of the time as it's so unstable inside compared to some other detectors and it can be a hyper little bugger.Never used an Ace250 so i can't compare .

One thing i forgot to mention is the pinpoint mode seemed a bit wishy washy compared to the Whites or other Fishers i've used and curious if it's reacting to the ground causing it to almost null a number of times but i rarely use it and may either be my inexperience on the F2 or may be wishy washy Have to work on that another day and maybe read the manual a bit DUH. Good Luck and wish you a speedy spring. HH Bill

Hey gordiesgirl,

Thanks, and at this rate i figure by Jan 30th, 08 it's gonna pay for itself . Actually one particular park is loaded with kids and they condense into a relatively small area of the park and haven't been hunting for a while and evidently neither has anyone else as i was finding surface quarters and dimes rather quickly along with the below ground stuff .It takes a month or two to build up and the weather hasn't been too bad around here. Just had 2 good days of detecting with a new detector. Best wishes. HH Bill

Hi Bill, sounds like your having fun with the F2. It is a very fast recovery machine and featherlight. I really like it so far. Right now I am using no disc. and seems to be able to handle electrical lines in town. I haven't found any deep stuff yet. I know it is a real hit with the multitudes so far and my distributor said it might be Feb. before I can get any more. Ok Bill you take care my friend and Happy New Year!

Hi John,

So far so good and honestly i prefer the F2 tones over the Tesoro Golden Umax. The recovery reset speed is very quick which helps at the trashy sites. Verdict is out on deeper targets and not really expecting a depth demon for $199. With the exception of experimenting in the basement which was useless and attempting to get closer to the Amtrak lines the F2 didn't seem too affected by standard electrical service lines.

Hopefully the F2 will work out for some folks and curious if any meaningful depth like 7" to 8" on coins can be achieved by someone. Meaningful depth is why i keep the Musky Wish you the best John and a productive New Year. HH Bill

Great Reviews Bill. I know there have been alot of negative reviews about the F2 but always have to wonder if it is someone not learning the detecor enough to give an Honest review, someone loyal to another brand that just has to knock anything they are not using or that they have legitemit Beefs. I always figure the only way to know for sure is to try one yourself. Sounds like our doing fine and will be Real Happy with it. I'm sure in the right conditions it will go deeper than Ya might think. I have 2 $ 50.00 BH Fast Tracker for the kids here and they have found a couple Nickels and a few other coins and stuff at 6" with them. 2 of the nickels were a 1936 & 1931. ( I hate when they find better stuff than me ) Anyway keep us updated as I'm sure alot of F2 users that can't get out cuz of the weather will appreciate it.

Good Luck & HH

Hey Tinman, if the kids find too much good stuff tell them they have to pay for their own batteries and buy lunch

As far as reviews on any detector heck just look at all the reviews in the magazines and see how many negatives there are on any particular detector.

Best to take each review on all the forums with a grain of salt as all hunting sites are not created equal and a certain detector may not match the requirements to provide the best performance. I agree with your assesment on the need for some to knock any unit that may possibly compete with their particular brand or they may just prefer the traits built into certain detector lines. And of course overall hobby experience helps with some evaluation

I do feel the F2 has more than enough potential for deeper finds than my initial digs and hopefully others may have some F2 experiences both good or not so good. Will try to update as i can. Take care !! HH Bill
