Never had a 1266 but from all i've read from numerous forum posts it is a very raspy sounding ,deeeeep seeking metal detector, with dual disc , probably one of the deepest detectors of all time.
I have a cz5 and it is a silent search type machine and has a six facet discrimination knob setting and runs an all metal mode. The cz5 has a 3 tone audio disc and a belltone overload signal( sounds like a telephone ringer). The cz is a very deep searching machine that does love iron targets but you learn how to differentiate the iron with experience. The CZ's can be manually ground balanced. The cz5 and cz3d have analog meters where the cz70 is the digital version .The cz5 and 3d are very very easy to learn . Cz's are excellent machines and right now the cz5 can be had at a reasonable cost. HH Bill |

The Coin Strike is an awsome machine, but it has a learning curve. It is not like any CZ or other machines out there. You have to learn the relationship between the sensitivity and threshold control. Read Bill Ladd's field report on Fisher's web sight www.fisherlab.com and his trouble shooting guide, they are both in PDF form. Pay close attention and this will get you on the right track. I love mine, but you will have to spend some time with it. Then it will click and off you will go. Too many guys buy the Coin Strike and try to treat it like other detectors get frustrated and then sell it. NOTE: the relationship between the sensitivity and threshhold are the key to this machine. Once you understand this the machine will shine! It is very good in iron trash, but can be fooled by round iron objects, and pop tops, like any other machine. It loves round objects, I guess that is why they call it the Coin Strike.Good Luck BG |
